Last week I turned 26…

After a very interesting short 25!

Have to admit, my 25 was rock and rolling-roller coaster-ups and downs-ziggidizagg mofo!

Crazyness thats for sure. When I turned 25 last year, one of my resolution was to cut my drinking, Man it was even worse, after couple of months i gained 25, i broke with my ex-girlfriend, i know im not suppose to talk about this anymore, but dude… this is a reminiscing time! Ow by the way she’s doing real great now, she’s getting married next year, much happy for her and Nicko. (her cool boyfriend, no really he’s a cool and nice guy).

Nelly – Brass Knuckles

Terakhir denger Nelly seinget gw dia rapper yang agak menye-menye manja gitu deh, apalagi ngerapnya tentang cinta-cintaan gitu. Padahal lagu-lagu dia kaya E.I, Number One, Ride with Me, Grillz, Hot in Here, Err Time lebih canggih dibanding Dillema, Wudsyaname dan lagu2 cengeng nya dia.

Eeeh begitu gw liat video klipnya Party People dari album terakhir nya Brass Knuckle, kok jadi ganas lagi nih orang, mana Fergie nya juga sexy abisss. Langsung aja gw dengerin satu albumnya, asli man! Ganas to the bone yo! Porsi lagu party nya lebih banyak dibanding lagu “menye-menye” nya. Apalagi “L.A.” yang featuring Snoop Dogg, aduuuh keren abis juooo!!! “Body on me” juga seru tuh, soalnya bareng Akon dan Ashanti. Yang agak mengejutkan sih kok bisa tiba-tiba ada Chuck D nya Public Enemy di lagu ”Self Esteem” yah?

Duh duh duh asli keren banget nih satu album, jadi pengen cepet2 muterin di club. This album is one of the bangers in the year of 2008, must have for bumpin in the club or even in car.

dipasaran dengan instrument full band dengan berjudul “In Search of … Band”.

To shoot an episode of Global TV’s Lets Dance.
Replacing DJ Radd, cuz he couldnt go, cuz he had to take his dad to hospital.

UNIVERSAL MUSIC INDONESIA & EQUINOX PRESENT
DJ SCHIZO INVASION

Sekitar 3 bulan lalu pada jam 8 malam telpon berbunyi, ternyata DJ Schizo. “Hey Flame! Project mixtape gw sama Universal on, gw butuh studio time yah sekitar seminggu, nanti gw email tracklistnya, trus gw brief mau gw kaya gimana”. Sebagai DJ resident di club ternama Equinox, DJ Schizo adalah salah satu DJ yang selalu mendorong batas-batas kreatifitas sebagai seorang DJ. Coba dateng deh ke Equinox hari kamis – sabtu hari dimana dia bertugas, kalian pasti akan mendengar perbedaan sewaktu DJ Schizo bermain.

Beberapa hari setelah percakapan di telepon itu, DJ Schizo datang ke studio. “Okeh jek gw mau bikin mixtape yang orang bisa denger kapan aja, di mobil kalo pagi, siang siang dikantor, sore kalo pulang kuliah, atau sebagai warming up sebelum weekend party.” Begitulah briefnya.

Sebelum nyentuh turntables, gw liat dia ngacak playlistnya selama berhari2. Mungkin ada 10 revisi tracklist kali yah, Untungnya pihak Universal Music selalu memberi license akan lagu yang akan digunakan.

Akhirnya tracklist di approve oleh Schizo sendiri dan Universal. Timbaland, Ne-Yo, Will I Am, Mary J Blige, dan banyak lagi. Hari ke 3 akhirnya dia mulai menyentuh turntable dan laptop Serato Scratch Live nya. “Kayanya gw gak mau overtechnical deh, scratch kebanyakan kadang bisa bikin pusing yang denger, gw tetep mau mixtape ini easy listening.” Makanya kalo dengerin Invasion scratch nya tidak terlalu complicated, tapi tetap dinamis. Setiap hari dalam seminggu dia dateng dari jam 3 sore di depan turntable sampe jam 5 pagi, kecuali kalau dia harus ke Equinox untuk bertugas. Gw sendiri gak kuat nemenin, jadi selalu gw tinggal tidur. Lalu setiap bangun pagi, gw selalu cek hasil rekamannya semalem bermaksud untuk mengedit-edit.

Tapi selalu aja terkejut, karena nyaris nggak ada yang perlu di edit. Plus kreatifitas mixing nya luarbiasa. Scratch drop-ins, mixing in key, blend-mix…. Ck ck ck…Gak bakal ada DJ mix secanggih INVASION, yakin gw!!!

Udah beberapa hari ini INVASION selalu ada di mobil gw, cd player rumah gw, sampe ke tracklist iphone gw. Maaan… gw gak bosen2 dengerin nya. Puaaasss abeeezzzzz. Kalian wajib beli INVASION, kalo pengen tau, what really makes a good Hiphop & RnB mixtape!!!!
